Kaak Lid Storage

 

To achieve the square shape of toast bread, baking pans have to be provided with a lid. An industrial baking line that does not only produce toast, requires a storage to stack the lids that are not in use.

The concept can be either a Gantry Robot System (combined with the Pan Storage) or with prestackers. Behind the pre-stacker, lid stacks are stored on chain conveyors.

Kaak Lidder/Delidder 

Automatic Lidder

To achieve the square shape of toast bread, baking pans have to be provided with a lid. In an industrial Toast Line the lid is positioned on top of the pans by means of the Automatic Lidder. The machine is positioned between the final proofer and the oven.

 

By means of a pick-and-place principle, the lidder head (vacuum or magnetic) is picking up the lids from an infeed conveyor. Then they are transferred to the pan conveyor and placed on top of the pans.

 

The machines dimensions are determined by the line capacity, pan sizes, layout, etcetera.

 

Automatic De-Lidder

After baking toast bread, lids have to be removed prior to depanning. In an industrial Toast Line the lid is removed by means of the Automatic De-Lidder. The machine is positioned between oven and the depanner.

 

By means of a pick-and-place principle, the de-lidder head (vacuum or magnetic) is picking up the lids from the pans. Then they are transferred to the lid discharge conveyor.

 

The machines dimensions are determined by the line capacity, pan sizes, layout, etcetera.

Kaak Pan Buffer

To achieve a balanced and high efficiency in an industrial baking line, an important tool is the use of the Pan Buffer. Like cars in heavy traffic, producing traffic queues, also fast running bread pans can cause a line to run irregularly.

An often used buffer concept is the vertical Multi-Step pan elevator. When the dough department can not handle all the empty pans, those pans are fed into the elevator by means of a pusher and slided onto an L-shape carrier, attached to vertical chains.

After each pan insert the lift chain will make an upward step. When dough department needs more empty pans than the oven exit is supplying, the pan buffer will empty stepwise.

Kaak Pan Storage

In an industrial baking line with more than one pan type, the pans that are not in use have to be stored. One of several storage concepts is the Gantry Robot System. The system will fully automatic exchange and store the different pan types in the baking line.

Pans from the previous product are taken in and stacked into the store, whereas pans for the next product are taken from the store in fed into the baking line.

Pans are fed in and out on conveyors. A complete row of pans is picked up by means of a large mechanical gripper and stored in the appropriate pan position.

Optionally a pan turner will be installed on the infeed and outfeed conveyor to store all pans up-side-down to prevent pollution inside the pans.
